Maad Wonderland

What a great way to start a new month by selling and buying pretty things at a venue created just for crafters & artist. A wonderful place to breath in the creative air and enjoy people's talents. Better still to see some friendly faces and sharing of good ideas. It's a place that makes me feel comfortable and creative! A good beginning in October will make a fantastic end to the same month. I feel almost happier just thinking about it. ;) Anyways... do pop by in November... I'm already thinking of new things to make... nitty gritty is gonna get busy busy! Seeya! My Lovely display with lotsa happy sunshine and fantastic natural lighting! I love this spot in the entire room!
nitty gritty has given bith to nitty gritty bebe! It's a GIRL! :) My new addition of baby products for precious little darling princesses. Right now I'm into hair accessory and patchwork bibs... more to come so check it out at Maad in November! See Ya!

Chubby Cheeks

nitty gritty bebe, inspired by Lil' Sonja

Q: Why Chubby Cheeks?
A: Becos' that's what I call Sonja, she has really chubby kissable cheeks!

About Chubby Cheeks:
Now that I have a baby, I've been toying with the idea of doing sweet baby stuff for little girls. Since I love sewing, I could probably do up some designs. Let's start with footwear. I enjoy dressing Sonja but couldn't find pretty shoes to match her get up. So why not make them? That's how I started bag making too. Back when I was a design student, I always wanted or rather needed bags to match my outfit so instead of buying I make them. Cos I know my mom won't disapprove if I sew myself some nice bags versus buying new ones... Moreover, my mom does alot of sewing for us when my sister & I were little. We've some of the most prettiest bags and dresses that you can't get from else where cos' its all handmade with mommy's love. So now, it's my turn to do it for my girl. Some great things do run in the family ;)
Sneak preview of my bebe collection. Fregie frog (Sonja's toy) presenting Fabric mary janes and a quirky bib. Will be doing more designs & perhaps apparels too... Stay tuned.

1st Timers @ Maad !!!

Welcome June 2009!
This month is exciting for us becos its our debut @ Maad (6th & 7th June). Many friends and loyal supporters have been encouraging me to join Maad and I finally did it! Achievement & Satisfaction! June's gonna be a happy, colorful month for me!
Maad is really a cool place to be... Not only did I 'bump' into good old friend I even make new ones. 3 cheers for the mummies I got to know in this event. They're the ones who takes care of the kids, keep the homes clean, cook for hubby & still make time to CRAFT! Here comes a new generation of super moms! And am I not glad that I am one too :p
I simply love this idea of being under one roof with fellow designers & entrepreneurs alike doing what they do best and making money out of it. After all nitty gritty started as a hobby & is now a mini business. Yipee!

Look out for more nitty gritty in July 4th & 5th cos we'll be BACK!

my little corner, nice & warm...

"Ribbit" Sonja's first story book

Lil' Sonja says: I haven't slept enuf Dada
Went to baby clinic for Sonja's assessment, woke up earlier than usual.
Captured Sonja in her "not-enuf-sleep" look.
Bought Sonja her first story book titled I'm Just A Frog.
A funny book with froggy bubbled eye & black movable eyeballs...

My Little moments of happiness

Marley the Russian Doll Bookmark

Have you ever had times when when you walk into a store & somehow felt that there's something waiting to be found by you? I had one.
Was drawn by the cuteness of a stationary shop while waiting for Bevan to return from the loo... Just as I was browsing through shelves & racks of even more cuteness, my heart just kinda beat a little faster as I feel that there's something I fancy around the corner.Frantically like a radar sensor searching for its target, I FOUND IT!!! A Russian Doll Book Mark, my favourite character. She's barely 5 cm tall, hidden behind some taller bookmarks. And she's the ONLY one sitting on the shelf... waiting for me to claim her. She cost nothing more than $2 but it's not the price tag, it's the moment of JOY that outburst from me when we meet. I guess that's also how its like if not even better, that when God searches thru' people & found the ONE he knows is waiting for Him. That moment of Joy for those who find and be found!

Fleamania 23 May 2009

FleaMania @8Q, 23rd May 2009
Below are some photos taken at the event. The weather was super hot that day. I brought my little Sonja along with me. Both of us braved the hot sun and humidity! Way to go baby girl...... we'll have lots more of fleamarkets to do together. Anyway despite the weather, we had a really good experience that day. Thanks to my dear customers who supported me. Hope to see you soon!

Lil' Baby Sonja says:
"The weather's so hot ya know. I'm grumpy! Don't you dare come near me... Touch my rattle and I'll fight you!"
Isn't she adorable... a lil' grouchy but I thought it was so cute!
Puffy Floret Hair Pins, $8 Each

I enjoy making these little florets especially when I am on the bus. Not only do they help me to pass time but also making them makes me happy. I sure have a fruitful trip!!!

My necklace display units

I love this necklace wardrobe that Bevan made for me. Thank you Hubby! Finally, I can hang up all my funky funny long layered necklaces......

nittygritty Earring collection

Can you spot little puffy floret earrings? Aren't they sweet! Think I'm gonna make one for myself too!

Ta-Da!!!! My nittygritty Stall

This display took me more than a hour to do, moving in and out of shade to hide from Mr. Sunshine whos super strong that day! Anyway, I got it ready before the crowd comes in. Yipee!
P/s: Can you spot a bright red pram in between all that stuff and the 'photographer'.... hahaha.... proof that we were there!
